Evan Rachel Wood
Evan Rachel Wood was born September 7,
1987, in Raleigh, North Carolina. Her father, Ira David Wood III (a actor in
the theatre writer, director, actor) is her father. Sara Wood Wood is her
mother and is an actress. Her older brothers include Dana Wood, a musician and
Ira David Wood IV who also have been actors. Evan and her brothers sometimes
were on stage in the Theatre In The Park in Raleigh, which her father started
and where the director is executive. At the age of five, she was screened
against Kirsten Dunst for the leading part in Interview with the Vampire: The
Vampire Chronicles (1994) following a lengthy audition process. In the year
1996, she relocated to Los Angeles along with her brother Ira and mom. She has
appeared in TV series as well as feature films and TV movies ever since. She's
appeared in Practical Magic (1998) as well as in the comedy S1m0ne (2002) as
the daughter of Al Pacino, and the film followed with Thirteen (2003) which
starred Holly Hunter. The role she played as Tracy in "Thirteen,"
which she played in the film, earned her a nomination from the Golden Globes
for Best Performance by an Actress in a Drama and a nomination for the Screen
Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance By a Female Actor In the Leading
Role. When she received the award from SAG she was the most youthful actor in
the Leading Role category. She was awarded an award of a Golden Globe and Emmy
nomination for "Outstanding Supporting Actress in the form of a Miniseries
or Movie" for her performance of Veda Pierce in the HBO mini-series
Mildred Pierce (2011). Acclaim was also given to her performance as Stephanie
(Mickey Rourke’s ex-wife) in Darren Aronofsky’s The Wrestler (2008). She is
the daughter of Ira David Wood III and Sara Wood. Little sister to Ira David
Wood IV and Dana Wood. She is a certified dancer. She loves to dance and sing,
as well as rollblade and ride horses. She is the black belt from tae Kwon Do.
She's kept in contact with most of her Once and Again (1999) Castmates: Mischa
Barrton, Julia Whelan and Shane West.
